Headshots in Leeds - Burn Studio
Burn are a brand and design studio in Leeds delivering bespoke digital solutions for clients who want to do things differently. Based in Leeds, West Yorskhire they approached me for new headshots for use on their website, in print and on LinkedIn.
It often takes quite a bit of coaxing and questioning to find out what clients want from their headshot session, what they want to portray, where they want to use their chosen photographs, and how they envisage their photographs. As a headshot photographer, we have to make sure we are covering all eventualities for future uses, make them feel as comfortable as possible during their headshot session AND give clients the confidence in me to execute the brief!
I needn’t have worried.
As a designer, Tom gave me a very clear brief for their headshots. They wanted crisp, high contrast, black and white, with the option to change the background colour to suit their needs.
No problem.
The headshot session took place at their studio in Leeds, once I’d set up, tested the lighting and had a snuggle with the studio cat Mini, the boys appeared. Freshly groomed and with multiple tops and jackets to choose from. I thought to myself ‘crikey, they’re well prepared’, it turns out their significant others had picked the outfits out for them.
Both Tom and Ash were photographed in multiple outfits, capturing different looks, expressions and snippets of their character.
The biggest challenge for this headshot session in Leeds was making sure that the clothing choices worked with the high contrast, black and white editing that I was going to apply, but thanks to the pre-session consultations we had, all basis were covered.
After the session I provided Tom and Ash with proof’s to select from, here is what Tom had to say, ”Christa did an amazing job with our headshots and was great to work with. We’re actually struggling to narrow them down! - We couldn't be happier. We’ll be recommending her to our clients, you should hire her for your headshots!”
I even managed to get a quick shot of Tom and his lovely partner Orlaith, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
