When you’re looking for a location for a family portrait session in Leeds, Roundhay Park really does have it all and it’s one of my favourite locations to use. There is so much to explore, with its vast open spaces, the lakes, the woods and the playgrounds all making the perfect natural backdrop for creating authentic family photos.

During a recent family portrait session in Roundhay Park, I had the pleasure of photographing a family of four. The parents, along with their two energetic children, were excited to explore the park while I captured their natural interactions and expressions.
A Relaxed and Fun Experience
One of the best things about an outdoor family photoshoot is the ability to move around freely. Movement allows for more natural and relaxed shots. We started the session near the cricket pitches, with plenty of space to run around the children were immediately at ease, running around and playing, which allowed us to capture some truly authentic moments.
We then strolled up the path towards the Mansion finding a bench where the family sat together, sharing laughs and cuddles while I snapped away before stealing a moment for Mum and Dad to have a few photographs just the two of them.
